Mr. James T. Tefteller, of Lebanon, TN passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 81 years. He was a loving husband to his wife, Opal, together for over 50 years, and father to 8 wonderful children. Mr. Tefteller enjoyed walking and gardening, scratch-off tickets with an occasional win, and his 2 cans of Busch beer at the end of the day.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wilson Tefteller, Sr. and Edna Virginia Hodge Tefteller; wife, Opal; son, Lee Porter, and 6 siblings.
He is survived by his 8 children, Linda Gill, Carl Porter, Sr. Johnny Porter, LeAnne Hatfield, Laura Porter, Paula Clark, Jamie Paul, and Jimmy Tefteller; 27 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN on Sunday, September 8th between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm. Visitation will also be on Monday, September 9th from 9 am until the service time of 11 am. Mr. Tefteller will be laid to rest beside his wife at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens 9090 Hwy. 100 Nashville, TN
Donald Porter, Carl Porter, Jr., Cory Carney, Peyton Paul, Eli Paul, Zach Tefteller, Jimmy Tefteller, and Kris Carney will serve as pallbearers for their grandfather’s service.
