In loving memory of Stephen Lee Wolferman
11/09/45 - 07/01/23
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving father, grand father and husband, Stephen Wolferman. Stephen touched the lives of many as a successful financial advisor, and a cherished parental figure. He was born in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, and spent his adult life in Teaneck and Paramus, NJ. His legacy will forever live on through his loving family and countless lives he impacted throughout his journey.
Born on November 9, 1945, Stephen grew up in Brooklyn with a deep appreciation for knowledge, hard work, and the power of compassion. These values would shape his life and guide him in his various pursuits. After completing his education at NYCC where he studied to become a social worker, he embarked on a career as a financial advisor and was able to establish himself as a trusted expert in his field. His dedication, integrity, and insightful guidance earned him the respect and admiration of his clients, who often turned to him for guidance during significant milestones in their lives.
Beyond his professional achievements, Stephen was a devoted family man, and his 46-year marriage to his beloved wife, Jackie, was a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Together they created a nurturing home for their two sons and daughter Matthew, Jason and Lacey. He instilled in them values of compassion, perseverance, and the importance of family. Stephen cherished every moment with his wife and created many memories with his family fishing and swimming at their lake house in Swan Lake, NY.
As retirement beckoned, Stephen discovered a new passion: digital painting. He found solace and joy in expressing his creativity through vivid colors and majestic landscapes. His art became a reflection of his vibrant spirit, capturing beauty of the world around him and inspiring those who followed him on Facebook.
Stephen was not only an accomplished professional and artist but also a doting grandfather. He adored his grandchildren, and they brought immense joy and laughter to his life. Whether it was sharing stories, imparting wisdom, or simply spending quality time together, Stephen treasured every moment shared with his grandchildren, leaving a lasting impact on their lives (including his goodbye ritual of floating dollars).
In the memories of those who knew him, Stephen will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering support, and contagious zest for life. His legacy extends beyond his professional achievements and artistic endeavors. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a genuine interest in the well-being of others. May Stephen rest in eternal peace, knowing that his legacy lives on within the hearts of his loving family and friends. Though he may be physically absent, his presence and influence will forever guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie, his loving children, Matthew, Jason and Lacey, his adored grandchildren, Kaylee, Colin, Sophia and Logan, his daughter in law Christine, his sister and brother in law Deeanne and Gerry, his sisters in law Connie and Peggy, his brother in law Brad, his niece and nephew Felice and Harris, his great nieces Skylar and Kira, and a host of other relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
We will miss you dearly, but we find solace in knowing that you are at peace. May your soul find eternal rest, and may your light continue to shine brightly in our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Rotary Foundation, as it was a cause close to his heart.
With love and honor, The Wolferman Family
