Beth R. Pressman passed away on January 1, 2026. Beth is survived by her daughters, Kimberly and Lauren; her sons-in-law, Nick and Jason; and her three grandsons, Asher, Asa, and Ari, and two step-grandchildren Mia and George. Hearing stories of her grandchildren's successes always brought her immense pride. Beth is also survived by her loving brother, Mark.
Beth grew up in
Paterson, New Jersey, where her strength, curiosity, and independence first took shape. She attended the Barnard School for Girls in New York City and went on to earn her nursing degree from La Salle Junior College. She later graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., reflecting her commitment to learning.
Beth began her professional career as a nurse on the kidney transplant floor at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. She left nursing to become a full-time mother, raising her daughters in Pacific Palisades, California. She made many life-long friends through the many organizations she dedicated herself to over the years- including The Center Theatre Group, Angels Night Project and others.
Beth had a passion for travel, the theater, music, and she was a fantastic cook. Her love of entertaining led her to start a catering business, which evolved into the creation of two restaurants. Her restaurants, Stir Crazy, were built around wok-based, healthy eating-an innovative concept that was truly ahead of its time. After selling the businesses, Beth moved to Palm Desert, where she resided for more than 20 years.
Never content to remain still, Beth once again followed her independent spirit. In her 70s, she picked up and moved to Florida without knowing a soul. The move bewildered some of her peers, but it was entirely in keeping with Beth's adventurous nature and her disregard for conventional boundaries.
Beth lived life on her own terms, with courage and curiosity. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her family and all knew her. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in her honor to the Good Dog Foundation or The United Jewish Federation.
