Mr. Steve G. Blankenship, age 70, of Lafayette, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services for Steve Blankenship are scheduled to be conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 12 noon from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Wilson and Elder David Swindle officiating. Interment will follow in The Galen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 4 PM until 8 PM, and on Saturday, from 10 AM until service time at 12 Noon.
Family suggests donations be made to The Macon County Historical Society or The Galen School Museum.
Steve was preceded in death by his Parents, Harold Gordon Blankenship and Hattie Rulene Swindle Blankenship; Paternal Grandparents, Earl and Edna Blankenship; Maternal Grandparents, Ruby and Mable Swindle; Uncles, Hillas Swindle, Charles Swindle, J.E. Blankenship, and Homer Blankenship; Aunt, Irma Blankenship Dallas; and Cousin, Margaret Dallas Dotson.
