Steve Carson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Carson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who left this world peacefully on January 8, 2026. Born in Mt Vernon, Illinois, on November 30, 1944, he lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service. He married his wife Teddy on March 21st, 1963. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, softball, coaching, golf, and especially watching his kids and grandkids participate in sports. Steve was very proud of his hole-in-one on August 12, 2010.

A man of deep faith, Steve was an active member of Shepherd King Lutheran, Crossroads Methodist, and ultimately Lakeridge Methodist Church and the Trinity Sunday School class. He was involved with Emmaus, Kairos Inside, and Kairos Outside. One of Steve's most significant achievements was being part of the team that helped expand the Kairos Outside ministry to Lubbock. This is an organization that helps support women whose lives have been impacted by incarceration.

Steve established a successful career in telecommunications and retired in 2003.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Teddy; his son, Bryan Carson and wife, Jodie; son, Bob Carson and wife, Cris; sister, Cindy Johnson; sister, Dee Ann Davis and his cherished grandchildren, Chelsea, Alex, Keaton, Branson, and Bristol.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Carson Jr and Dorothy Carson, and his sister, Patricia Campbell.

A celebration of life service will be held at Lakeridge Methodist Chapel (4701 82nd St), on January 17th, 2026, at 2pm, where family and friends will gather to honor Steve's life. Steve will be deeply missed, yet his memory will remain in the hearts of those he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the blood bank or Kairos Outside of Lubbock.
