Steve Duane DeVos, age 59, of Conklin, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late LaVern and Marion (Platschore) DeVos. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David DeVos; sister, Therese DeVos; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter and Roberta Bolthouse.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 34 years, Mary DeVos; daughters, Melissa and Natalie DeVos; siblings, John (Lynn) DeVos, Tim (Pat) DeVos, Andy (Gale) DeVos, Bonnie (Leon) Zimmer, Todd (Kathy) DeVos, Nancy Brewer, Matt (Kelly) DeVos, Ryan DeVos, Chad (Melissa) DeVos; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Brenda (Jeff) Lindberg, Walter (Haida) Bolthouse, Shirley Hall, Nancy Bolthouse, Marvin (Dawn) Bolthouse and several nieces and nephews.
Steve took great pride in his work, both in his career and home life. He worked as a Redi Mix Driver for over 30 years, always keeping his truck the cleanest of the fleet. Even after long days at work, he would always find a task to complete at home, such as tending to the garden or cutting wood for a winter supply. This strong work ethic was extended to those he loved as he was always willing to lend a hand. He had a talent for fixing whatever broke in a creative (and frugal) way. Steve also loved the outdoors, spending much of his free time scouting deer, golfing with friends, or shooting his bow. But most of all, he loved his family and treasured their time together, whether it was hitting golf balls around the yard with Natalie, watching a funny comedian with Melissa, or taking a nature walk with Mary. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
