Gloria Ann DeVos

Mrs. Gloria A. DeVos, age 85, of Armada, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, at the Blue Water Hospice Home in Marysville.

Gloria was born in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Denby High School in Detroit. She resided in Armada for many years. She was employed by Utica Community Schools for over 40 years and also worked for J.C. Penney for more than 30 years, retiring in 2020.

Gloria had a lifelong love for animals and cared for many throughout her years, including horses, goats, mini horses, a donkey, dogs, and cats. She was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed the friendships she formed there. She also enjoyed social outings with friends and traveling up north with her church ladies.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Raymond DeVos; her daughter, Kimberly (Steven) Weller; her grandchildren, Cody (Armani) Weller and Tyler (Erin) Weller; her stepchildren, Deborah DeVos and Raymond DeVos; her step-grandchildren, Anthony Cuciurean and Jacqueline Cuciurean; and her great-grandchildren, Palmer and Derek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Josephine, and her brother, Curtis.

A memorial service will be held in the spring. Details will be announced at a later date.
