Steve Elisech Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Funeral Chapel & Prearrangement Center on Dec. 3, 2024.
Steve J. Elisech, Jr., age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 1, 2024 at his sister Margaret's home. The son of the late Steve and Gloria (Gagnon) Elisech, he was born on December 4, 1950 in Saginaw. A true Prayer Warrior, Steve loved the Lord and his faith. He was a member of All Saints Parish – St. James Church where he was active with the Praying Our Faith Ministry under the leadership of his dear friend, Maribeth Hopps. Steve loved his church family and enjoyed going to church. He was a longtime member of the Lion's and Civitan Clubs and enjoyed participating in the Bay County Special Olympics, especially in track and field, bowling and bocce ball. He lived his life to the fullest, making so many good friends along the way. Staying active was a big part of Steve's life and he liked to travel and go camping, play bingo and get together with his large family at all their gatherings. Many thanks go to his caregiver of 30 years, Mary Ann Maddiford, with whom he resided along with his best friends Donny Branham and Clarence Lamblin, and to Pastor Jeremy and members of Harvest Baptist Church for their friendship, prayers and support.
Steve is survived by his siblings, Bob (Sybil) Rock, Rusty (Joe) Bernal, Margaret Shapland Dinnan, Bill (Kathy) Elisech, Frances (Manuel) Rueda, Joe (Janet) Elisech, Rick Elisech and Jennifer Erwin; a brother-in-law, George Perry; and many dear nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Steve was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Perry and Irene Elisech; a brother, Leonard Eyman; and two brothers-in-law, George Shapland and Dennis Dinnan.
The Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at All Saints Parish – St. James Church with Fr. Jose Cabrera presiding. The Rite of Committal will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Steve's memory to Praying Our Faith Ministry at All Saints Parish.
