Harleyville, South Carolina
Mr. Steve Douglas "Doug" Gore, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Born on October 21, 1939, a son of the late Don B. Gore and the late Addie Mae Blanton Gore. Mr. Gore worked in banking until his retirement and was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church of Harleyville. In his personal life he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He was an active Master Mason and Past District Deputy Grand Master, having held memberships at Goose Creek Lodge No. 401, Egeria Lodge No. 71, Loris Lodge No. 205 A.F.M., and Vance Lodge No. 230. He was a particularly skilled orator and was proficient on all three Masonic Lectures, and for this reason he was often called to do courtesy work for other Masonic lodges.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Tracie F. Gore (Tosha Smith), Elizabeth Anne Gore Blanton, and their mother, Patsy Blackburn Gore Ellison; grandchildren, Aaron Gasser (Elizabeth), Brandt Gasser (Brittany Steele), Destinee Johnson (Justin), and Adelaide Elizabeth Meny; eleven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donnie Gore (Myra), and Curtiss Gore.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gore was predeceased by his grandchild, Keith Joel Ronquillo, II.
Funeral services with Masonic Rites conferred by Loris Lodge No. 205 A.F.M. will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jamie Cribb officiating. Committal services will be private. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2025, immediately following services, at Hardwick Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, or The First Baptist Church of Harleyville, P.O. Box 297, Harleyville, SC 29448. Please sign Mr. Gore's online guestbook at hardwickfuneralhome.com or call Hardwick Funeral Home at 843-756-7001 for further information.
