Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fisher Funeral Home - Denison on Feb. 15, 2025.
Larry Steve Graham, affectionately known as Steve by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 13, 1956 in
Denison, TX for which he called home his entire life, Steve's journey was one marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a passion for the open road.
Steve's early life in Denison was filled with the warmth of a large, loving family. He was a beacon of light and joy to his parents, Ed Graham Jr. and Alma Burger, and a beloved brother to Janice Buckland. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother Ed Jr. and Carrie Graham, mother and step-father Alma and L.C. Burger, in-laws Roy and Sarah Hooten, sisters Carol Mannery and Patsy Graham, and brother-in-law Gary Buckland, Steve's legacy continues through his cherished family.
Steve's heart was captured by Sharon Gaye Graham, his devoted wife, with whom he built a life filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised a family that includes their daughter Aprill Morales and her husband Manuel, sons Brian Graham, Jeff Wilmoth, and Curtis Graham and his wife Stephanie. Steve's pride and joy were his grandchildren, Adam, Adrienne, Allison, Ryan, Tanner, Blake, David, Tristen, Lillian, Alhana, Kady, Harley, Lexi, and Abby, as well as his numerous great-grandchildren. He was a pillar of strength and love for his family, always there with a helping hand or a word of encouragement.
After attending Denison ISD, Steve dedicated himself to a life of service and hard work. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, instilling in him a sense of discipline and honor that he carried throughout his life. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as the owner of Graham Construction and later contributed his skills to the Texas Department of Corrections. His work was a testament to his unwavering reliability and commitment to excellence.
Steve's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He found joy in the rumble of Harley motorcycles, the gleaming chrome of old cars at car shows, and the serenity of boating. He reveled in the adventure of exploring mountain trails on jeeps and cherished tinkering in his shop and working around his beautiful house that he built by hand. Above all, Steve loved the Lord, his family and pets more than anything, and his actions reflected this every day of his life.
Described by those who knew him as loving, faith-filled, and incredibly handy, Steve was a man who could fix anything but believed the most important things in life aren't things at all. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Steve lived this philosophy through his actions, his kindness, and his unwavering support for those he loved.
Gaye and Steve were members of Southside Baptist Church in
Denison, TX. Steve's life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the joy of living a life filled with purpose. His memory will be cherished and celebrated by his loving wife Gaye; his children and their spouses; his sister and brother in-law Gail and Nelson McKinney, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Janice Buckland; and the many nieces and nephews who were blessed to know him.
