Stephen Eugene Kibble, aged 78, passed away January 8, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Beloved Husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Brother.
Stephen Eugene Kibble was born on May 16, 1947 in Chester Hill, Ohio to Hazel Madgeline (Grandon) Kibble and August Eugene Kibble.
He married Bonnie Lou (Newberry) Kibble on June 27, 1970. He served in Vietnam aboard the LPH U.S.S. Iwo Jima for the U.S. Navy as a gunner and an electrician from 1965-1969.
He was a jack of all trades who worked many jobs from the time he was nine years old, including Rosebud Salve and GRIT magazine routes in Belpre, OH. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for twenty-five years at Marmet, Willow Island, and Belleville Locks & Dam. He retired from Belleville Locks and Dam in Reedsville, OH in 1999.
He was a story-teller, an antique car aficionado and member of the Mid-Ohio Valley Wide Trackers, a joker, a farmer, a philosopher, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Belpre Masonic Lodge #609. He never met a stranger and always wore a smile.
He was baptized at the Belpre Church of Christ and was a member of Lynn Street Church of Christ in Parkersburg, WV.
He was preceded in death by his son, Casey Eugene Kibble; his parents, Hazel and August, and his stepfather, Claire Burford.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Bonnie, his sisters Bonnie (Kibble) Brooks, Denise (Burford) Vigneron, and Kathie (Burford) George; his daughters Andrea (Kibble) Kirk & Anthony of Kentucky, Jennifer (Kibble) Dodson & Chad of Tennessee, and Holly (Kibble) Hendrickson & Randy of Ohio; grandchildren Benja (Gladden) Slaughter & Jacob; Jessie (Hendrickson) Galloway & Dalton; Caroline (Dodson) Lu & Eldon; Katherine Dodson; Claire, Casey, & Cayden Hendrickson; his great-grandson Jasper Jett Slaughter, and many nieces & nephews.
Viewing will be held at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH from 2-5 PM on Sunday, Jan. 11, and the funeral will be held at Belpre Church of Christ on Monday, Jan. 12 at 11 AM, with Preacher Ron Laughery officiating. Military service, with his daughter Holly playing Taps, and interment to follow at the family cemetery in Coolville, OH.
