Steve "Stevie" Munson of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born in Lexington, SC on September 8, 2006 to Peter and Laurie Munson.
Steve, a 2025 graduate of Spartanburg High School, will be remembered for the bright energy and unforgettable presence he brought into every room. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on the people around him will last a lifetime.
Steve recently began working as a Walmart associate, where it did not take long for his personality to shine. Even in a short time, he left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike with his easygoing nature and genuine kindness.
He had a spirit that was both adventurous and fearless, always ready to try something new and live life fully. At the same time, Steve carried himself with a calm, levelheaded confidence. He was cool, relaxed, and steady in a way that made others feel at ease. He was smart, honest, and quietly competitive, yet always generous and willing to help anyone who needed it.
Steve was fun, loving, and silly, a true ray of sunshine in the lives of those who knew him. He had a natural gift for friendship, the kind of person who could walk into a room of strangers and leave with new friends. His warmth and friendliness drew people to him everywhere he went.
He loved motorcycles and cars and enjoyed gaming, especially GTA and Rainbow Six Siege. He treasured the many friendships built through those shared interests. Basketball was another passion, and he brought the same enthusiasm and competitive spirit to the court that he did to every part of life.
Steve leaves behind his girlfriend, Bella Burnett; his father, Peter Munson (Vida Wilkinson) of Spartanburg; mother, Laurie Munson of Lexington; and brother, Eric Munson.
Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel, conducted by Rev. Todd Lowe. Burial will immediately follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
All are welcome to gather at The Light Building, 631 Union St, Spartanburg, SC 29306, following the services for a time of fellowship and remembrance.
Steve’s memory will live on in the laughter he shared, the adventures he embraced, and the countless lives he touched simply by being himself.
