Steve Allen Newman

Steve Allen Newman, 65, of Diana passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2023. He was born on April 17, 1957 in Gilmer, Texas to Troy Lee & Dorothy Newman.
Steve was a man of integrity who was a kind, caring, loving husband, father and pawpaw and a friend to many.
Steve loved riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family & friends. He enjoyed going to auctions and he loved going to watch his granddaughter Payton race. He was a welder by trade who could build anything and a collector of many things.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years Susan; daughters, Lee Ann Dowdy and husband Jason, Shawn St. Andre and fiancé Max, Brandy Van Schoyck and husband Scotty; grandchildren, Payton, Taylor, Dustin, Ryleigh, Emily, Bayleigh, Coen,& Logan Hines and wife Kayci; great-granddaughter, Kensley Grace; nieces, Amy Naylor & Stephanie Dacus and Andrea Vines and husband Cory; great-nephews, Christopher Snelson and wife Haley, Micha Sessom and wife Sheyenne and Alexandra Sessom; dear friend, Mitzie Scroggs and many close friends and relatives.
Preceding him were his parents, Troy Lee and Dorothy Newman; sister, Glenda Naylor; brother, David Newman and his grandparents, Oscar Newman and Ruby Newman.
Funeral services for Steve will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Morton Baptist Church in Diana. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, March 28 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Cremation will take place after the services.
