Steve Patton Jr., age 92, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. He leaves behind his loving wife, Ann Patton; two children, Ronald Steven Patton & wife Clara, Lisa Renee Sutton & husband Craig, all of East Bernstadt, KY; three grandchildren, Ashley Creekmore & husband Clint, Kim Reynolds & husband Jack, Andrew Patton; three great grandchildren, Ellie Creekmore, Bryce Creekmore, Caleb Reynolds; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Patton Sr. and Nora Myrtle Parsley Patton; and by eight siblings, Coleman Patton, Dewey E. Patton, Denver Patton, Nina York, James E. "Pete" Patton, Ada Hibbard, Eva Lee Hacker, Clarence E. Patton. Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy before returning home to dedicate his life to dairy farming. He loved working the land and took great pride in caring for his farm and community. Steve served over 50 years as a board member for Jackson Energy representing his community in Laurel County. Outside of his hard work, he enjoyed simple pleasures-spending time camping, whittling, and keeping his faithful chew close at hand. Steve was always willing to lend a helping hand in his community. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, and the way he cherished the quiet moments of country life. Steve leaves behind family and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him. His presence will be deeply missed but his legacy of hard work, laughter, and love for the land will live on. A funeral service honoring Steve Patton Jr. will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Christian Church with Denny McCowan officiating. Interment will follow at Landrum Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service hour, also at the church. The pallbearers will be Ronnie Patton, Craig Sutton, Andrew Patton, Clint Creekmore, Jack Reynolds, William Stevie Patton, Bryan Fouts and Boyce Elza. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Edward Patton, John Hibbard, Bill Fouts, Stanley Elza and Donald Wyatt. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators or the charity of your choice. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
