Steve D. Reedy, 61, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on May 23, 2023. Steve was born November 4, 1961 to the late Jimmy Reedy and Rosalinda (James) Prewitt.
Steve was a longtime member of Word Aflame Church and a dedicated servant. Most often, he was the first to arrive and last to leave the church. He was the “yes man” for whatever needed to be done. Church and family were Steve’s life. Steve loved talking to everyone and was always willing to help in any way. He was not a quitter, and always persevered no matter the challenge. Steve loved people, especially children. He was avidly involved in Children’s Ministry, Bible Quizzing, and Bible Studies. Steve was a worshipper and was a Minister of Worship. He lived for God and led in worship from the pew. Steve had his hand in everything that went on in the church: Prison Ministry, Recovery Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Small Group, and Security. Every activity that was at the church, he was there. Steve was “all in” for God, he never did things half way. Steve was an avid reader and started every morning with reading his Bible and praying.
Among his outdoor activities, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. In his younger days, Steve was a boxer and bull rider. He lived life on the edge. He did not like bugs, especially spiders, but didn’t give a second thought to handling snakes.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Debbie Reedy-Voyles.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Melissa Reedy; his six children: Shayna, Kristal, Dwayne, Miranda, Gracie, and Whitney; seven grandchildren; three sisters: Belinda Goodenough, Teresa Moreno (Agapito), and Karen Cunningham (Mark); brother, Bobby Reedy (Mary); as well as a host of family members and friends that will all miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 27, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Word Aflame Church, 7800 I-30, Little Rock, AR 72209. Funeral Service begins at 11:00 AM following the visitation. Burial will take place at Old Salem Cemetery in Damascus, Arkansas, (family only) following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials (donations) may be made to the Word Aflame Christian Education Scholarship Fund.
