Steve Rigas

Steven Grant Rigas, formerly of Lansing, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Charlotte, MI. He was born on May 19, 1947, in Lansing, MI, to George Rigas and Mary (Evans) Serage.
Steve was a graduate of Sexton High School. He enjoyed his occupation as a car salesman. He also had a rewarding 25-year tenure with Orkin Pest Control, where he retired as a much-respected sales associate. Known affectionately as "Inspector Gadget" by his colleagues, Steve's love for technology and innovation was evident in all aspects of his work.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Steve was a man of many passions. His adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively in his camper, exploring the beauty of the outdoors.
As a talented singer, he was not only the lead vocalist in a band but also a vital part of his church community. He was actively involved in Mt. Hope Church's musical groups, including the Sounds of Hope, Men of Hope, and the church choir.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Doreen (John) Minnard, and his loving son, Ryan (Marla) Rigas. Grandchildren, Elaine (Henry) McKeown, Emily Minnard, Zachary (McKayla) Minnard, Ellie (Luke) Schneider, Hannah Rigas, and Maddie Rigas; great-grandchildren, Alfred and Rexen McKeown. Steve was preceded in death by his father George Rigas, mother Mary (Evans) Serage, brother Donald Rigas, and great-granddaughter Lily Schneider.
There will be a Memorial Service held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Charlotte Assembly of God, 1100 E. Clinton Trail, Charlotte, MI 48813. Luncheon will follow for those that want to share memories with family and friends.
