Stephen Ray Spiegelberg entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his Bear Lake home. Steve began his earthly journey on September 1, 1952, in New London, son of Raymond and Elaine (Buchholz) Spiegelberg of Manawa.
He spent most of his life on the family farm, yet never milked a cow. He did show cattle through 4-H.
Steve was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa, confirmed in April of 1966 and graduated from St. Paul Lutheran School. He was a graduate of Little Wolf High School, Manawa, class of 1970, which was the first class to graduate from the "new" high school.
In June of 1972, Steve graduated from Fox Valley Technical Institute with a degree in automotive service technician. He spent 52 years at Frick Ford, formerly Kawell Motors, in New London. As a certified Ford technician, he earned many service awards and won trips to the Bahamas, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. He retired on July 26, 2024, due to poor health.
Steve enjoyed hunting, shooting, snowmobiling, and his motorcycles. He was able to successfully hunt on opening day, 2024.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosanne Spiegelberg.
He is survived by his sister, Jane (Steve) Plamann of Appleton; nieces: Andrea (Kevin) Vodicka and Natalie, Michelle (Scott) Meyer and Sophie, Jessica (Andrew) Hose and Gavin, Elijah, Dominick and Ruby, Rachel (Matt) Spang and Ryder and Jaden; nephew, Jason Plamann. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to everyone who helped make his new home a reality; Randy, Rich, and Dave from Frick Ford; the Schaefer hunting party; Carolyn for the treats and friendship; Pastor Reichle, Chaplain Ben, and ThedaCare Hospice.
The Christian Funeral for Steve will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa, with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 9:00am - 10:45am. Burial will be in Baldwins Mill Cemetery, Town of Royalton. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials be directed to St. Paul Lutheran School.
