Mr. Steve Dean Wilson, Sr., age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, September 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born April 11, 1944, in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Thomas Dean Wilson and Katie Lee Hicks Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steve Dean Wilson, Jr. a granddaughter, Randi Taylor Vaughn, and a sister-in-law, Julia Wilson.

Steve was retired from Beaulieu of America (Cornet Carpet) and was a member of Central Church of Christ. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army Airborne Rangers.

Steve was abrupt, and could be grumpy, but deep down he was a big teddy bear. He was generous to a fault and was a proud American who loved our flag. Barbara said she first met him at Penny's Drive In and she thought he was so good looking because he looked like Elvis. Steve loved his family deeply.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Joyce Bivins Wilson of the residence and would have celebrated their sixty-first wedding anniversary on December 24, 2025; daughters, Mary and Bruce Stanley of Marietta, GA, and Sherry and Greg Bales of Maryville, TN; brother, Thomas Wilson of Dalton, GA: grandchildren, Tiffany Smith, Joshua Mullins, Zachary Mullins, Drake and Amanda Wilcox, Courtney and Wesley Sanders, Sterling Wilson and Storm Wilson.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mr. Steve Dean Wilson, Sr., will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dawnville Cemetery with Reverend Wesley Sanders officiating. Military honors and graveside rites will be provided by the Dalton American Legion Post #112.
