I had the privilege of meeting Steve in between a kite-boarding trip and Thanksgiving as he geared up for Birds of Prey this past year. We spoke at length of his profound love and pride for Anna and Benjamin, his little-known IT background, and the importance of family. Incredible man, incredible heart. So blessed to have known him ever so briefly.

Patrick and I both enjoyed many great moments with Steve on the Birds of Prey race course and in the classroom training emergency preparedness to our physicians. Lots of laughs and great discussions! So lucky our paths crossed! We will miss you, Steve! Our condolences to Steve's family and friends for your loss. Jodi & Patrick Riml

I am heartbroken by the loss of this amazing man. Not only did he save my life as a paramedic after a motorcycle accident, but for 15 years he was my mentor, trainer, motivator and friend at Vail Mountain Rescue. He had a style of his own, but never faltered on his mission of being there for his family, friends and community. I will forever be grateful for having the opportunity to know and learn from him. Rest in peace my friend. Steve Lucido

I am a multiple recipient of Steve´s care over the years. I have to just state the impact and outpouring of compassion shown by Steve was beyond exemplary. The last time I was with him he had come to my house to administer IV fluids... after the normal shift hours for Eagle Community Paramedics and he showed up an hour later. I was so grateful for his service and patience in my IV fluid delivery. He stayed with me until 11:30 pm! Fun thing was that we got to REALLY talk. Turns out we were more connected than we could have guessed.
