Steven Wayne Allen, Sr. 86 of Rockingham passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born to the late H. T. “Thomas” and Vera Thomas Allen on January 19, 1939 in Richmond County, North Carolina. He worked as a mechanic with Allen Brothers Timber and was a member of McLean Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe. He cherished his dads 1956 Ford truck.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister. Also preceding him in death was his grandson Steven Wayne Allen III.
Surviving are his loving wife Glenda Hill Allen of the home, children: Steven Wayne Allen, Jr (Kathy) of Advance, Scott Allen (Susan) of Conover, Stacey Allen (Deane) of Hamlet, Tammy Lee Strain (Ray) of Lillington, Todd Shepherd (Chris) of Rockingham, Shawn Allen (Adriana) of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren: Cameron, Clark, Dustin, Taylor, Jeremy, Kayla, Jamie, Morgan, Lance, Cooper, Spencer, Kinleigh, Thomas, Sam and great grandchildren: Lexi, Mason, Vada, Brooklyn, Oliver, James, Felicity, Henry, Penelope and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at McLean Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe, NC. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLean Presbyterian Church, 735 Fire Tower Rd, Ellerbe NC 28338.
