Steven James Andrade

Steven James Andrade, age 57, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024. He was a kind and generous man who always stood up for what was right. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on April 18,1967 to Antonia Andrade and John Dunston. He also spent many years living in Detroit, Michigan, where he eventually met his wife. His passing comes just 48 hours after the devasting loss of his oldest sister.
Steven is survived by his wife, Catherine, children, Stevona, Kamiko (fiancé Marcus), Austin, and Steven, grandchildren, Dakota, Neon, and Poem, sisters, Denise and Linda, aunts Josephine, Maria, Anna, nephews, Jason (wife Amina), Jolon (wife Laura), Delacey, and, Jonell, neices, Chrishondra (husband Gio), Mavniesha, Vontrice, and Vandell (fiancé Jennifer), and many more cousins and friends who cherish him dearly and will always remember his kindness.
Steven was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his grandparents, parents, sister Josephine, uncles Joey, Bobby, and Jimmy, aunts Beatrice, Hermina, Angela, cousin Jamie, best friend Al Barbery, his wife's grandfather who loved and cherished him dearly and other family and friends.
Steven attended Mt Pleasant High School, where he excelled in track and field, winning all-state in high hurdles. Steven served alongside his best friend, Al, in caring for his community as an emergency medical technician for Universal Ambulance. Steven was the gentlest of giants and made many friends as he worked at various nightclubs in the Detroit area. Everyone who knew him always felt welcomed and safe in his presence. After the birth of his youngest son, he relocated to Florida with family where he enjoyed warm winters and traveling. He was able to spend his 57th birthday on the beautiful island of St Thomas, creating special memories with his wife and son, Steven.
The family would like to invite all who remember Steven fondly to the VFW Post 4651 at 7 Haven Ave, Cranston, Rhode Island 02920 on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 3:00pm for a celebration of life.
