Steve was a parishioner of St. Mary and St. Andrew’s Catholic Parish in Ellenville, NY and attended Mass at its mission church, Our Lady of Lourdes in Kerhonkson. He was a very hard worker with a generous heart. He loved his family deeply and would do anything for them. He was quick with a joke and always strived to make us laugh! He immensely enjoyed tattoos and music, especially Rock and Roll, and would strum his guitar and sing the songs of his early years. He loved to create unique art in everything he did from drawings to woodcarvings. His children describe him as a man of style, a fun-loving old hippy. Steve loved working outside in his yard on projects around the house and he was always improving the home he built for his family which truly was his castle. Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged in 1975. He recently retired as a roofer at J&A Roofing Co. after 40 years, and he was thankful to his employer the late Joe Horowitz, Joe’s son Ian and Ian’s son, Nate, for this job.
