Steven Ray Arnold

Steven Ray Arnold, 73, of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at his home. He was born February 18, 1952, in Pana, Illinois, to Theodore and Dorothy (nèe Crow) Arnold. He married Sharon Emerick on May 10, 1980, in Vandalia, Illinois. Steven was a member of the Masonic Lodge #456 and the United Methodist Church of Nokomis in Nokomis, Illinois. He loved gardening and was a Master Gardener at the University of Illinois Extension Office. In his working years, he worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 31 years. After working for IDOT, he worked at the Nokomis Quarry for another 15 years. Steven is survived by his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Cindy Arnold and Tina (husband Andrew) Prather; two grandchildren, James and Riya Prather; and four siblings, Linda (husband Carl) McGinley, Karen (husband Greg) Cherry, Sharon Boltz and Bill Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane Garner. Steven's family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Open House from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the United Methodist Church of Nokomis, 220 S.
