It has taken over a month to write this. I miss you. I will miss our conversations each morning as I would drive to work. Regardless if it was politics, illness, or memories, I appreciated your time. Thank you for protecting me and listening to me. Fly high my brother. I love you.

Rest in peace cousin Steve. Very sad news. You were a good son to Auntie Sheila in her latter years. Reunited with your favourite Uncle Eddie and Auntie Gill. Love Sarah

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Steven.
He was the son of our good friends Derek and Sheila who we had known from Derek and my days in the Royal Navy back in the 1950´s. We often saw Steven as a young boy growing up in Portchester in the UK, where both families lived and I still do.
When Derek was offered a job in the States the family moved but Steven stayed for several years in the UK, before he moved to the USA himself.
After his parents passed away Steven would keep in touch with me and most times we´d end up talking about football (soccer) which he loved (Portsmouth FC).
Steven will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

I was really sad to hear the shock news of Steven's passing. I have known Steven since I was 14 years old as we attended the same school together in Portchester, England. We both left school in 1972 to start working and we would meet up socially on a regular basis.
We both enjoyed going to Fratton Park, home of Portsmouth Football Club to watch "Pompey" play. I also remember that we went to Wembley together in 1975 to watch England v Scotland and England won 5-1!
I travelled to New Jersey in 1976 with Steven to visit his family which was my first time in the US and I was very well looked after! A few years later Steven moved to the US to live permanently.
We managed to keep in touch after Steven left England, initially by letter and then by phone and email. Then in 2010 Steven came across and stayed with me for the FA Cup Final between Portsmouth and Chelsea. Although Portsmouth lost the Final 1-0 Steven really enjoyed being back in England and going to Wembley!
During his stay in England Steven was also able to visit his Godmother Gwen in Norwich and we also managed to include a visit to Portsmouth for some traditional Fish 'n Chips!
For the last 20 plus years I have always phoned Steven on the 30th December to wish him a "Happy Birthday." Sadly I won't be able to do that anymore.
Rest in Peace Steven, you will be sorely missed by your family and friends. And thank you for being such a special friend to me!

Hi Dad,
I will greatly miss you! I have great memories visiting you in New Jersey and Florida all of those summers. We went to the beach, New York City and we saw the rocket take off in Cape Canaveral at night!
I always enjoyed the comfort of being with you, Nan and Pop when I visited in Florida. It was a lot of fun going sailing and eating sandwiches Nan made for us!
I appreciate you always being there to talk, listen and offer advice. I will greatly miss that. I found it very interesting that you were from England and I love telling people I meet about that.
You were a big soccer...ahem football fan and I share your love of watching and playing sports even thought they may be different. Play up Pompey!!
I love you Dad! You now get to be with Nan and Pop again!
