Steven Glenn Boyce (Ret Lt. Col)
Steven Glenn Boyce was welcomed home by his Savior on February 25, 2022. Steve was born the son of Col. W. Craig Boyce and Walborg Magnussen Boyce in Frankfurt, Germany. As the son of a military officer, he moved often. Steve graduated from high school in El Paso, Texas and went on to earn a Bachelor and Master's degree.
Steve proudly served the country he loved in the United States Army and Army Reserves for 23 years. Steve also worked in Civil Service as a Federal Police Officer at Ft Sill.
Steve was an adoring father to two sons, Steve Jr. and Jeff. Steve found the love of his life, Rhonda Huff, and they made their first home in Lawton, OK before retiring to Oklahoma City.
Steve enjoyed life. He had wit and a sense of humor that brought a smile to everyone who met him. He took great pride in his granddaughters, Jordan and Kelsey. On a moment's notice he was transformed into "GUS." Great Uncle Steve loved making appearances sporting his red cape emblazoned with the letters G U S. Steve was also passionate about his restored 1948 Ford- Henry. He cheered for the OSU Cowboys year 'round.
A kidney/liver transplant blessed Steve with 11 additional years of life. He expressed his gratitude by becoming a representative for Life Share of Oklahoma. But the most important moment for him was when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Steve and Rhonda were dedicated members of the First Baptist Church of Lawton for over 20 years. During this time, Steve completed advanced training in evangelism and took every opportunity to share the Good News with others. He enjoyed teaching his Sunday School class and often spoke of how God had changed his life. Most recently Steve and Rhonda attended Council Road Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, where Steve was a deacon. He and Rhonda became involved in The Cube ministry.
Steve was greeted in heaven by his parents, his beloved son, Jeffery, his in-laws, and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Boyce, his son, Steve Jr. and wife Julie, and his granddaughters of Springfield, Missouri. Also surviving are his sister, Wally Ziegler of Wimberley, Texas, her son and daughter, as well as his brother, Craig Boyce of Ft Worth Texas, and his 2 daughters. He was greatly loved by Rhonda's brothers and sisters and their families in Oklahoma City.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cube's Community Ministry at Council Road Baptist Church, 2900 N Council Road, Bethany, OK 73008 or to Life Share, 4705 NW Expressway, Okla City, OK 73132.
