Steven Paul Buckler

Steven Paul Buckler passed away in Louisville, Kentucky on November 10, 2022, at the age of 70. Steve was born on November 29, 1951, to Joseph and Alice Buckler.
Steve graduated from Trinity High School in 1970. In 1994, he graduated as a Journeymen Carpenter and remained a member of the Kentucky Carpenters Union until his passing. Steve retired from Overhead Door after 20 years of service. To his family, there was nothing Steve couldn't build or fix. He was always there to save the day! Steve was a devoted husband and father. He married Mary Rita Neumayer in 1988, and was blessed with a daughter, April Lee Buckler, in 1991. His wife and daughter, along with his family, will never forget him.
Steve was a lover of Kentucky Wildcat sports, the Kentucky Derby, golf, Halloween, and his dog, Blue. He was a collector of stamps, coins, KY Derby glasses, and Stephen King books. Steve was an amazing griller and cook. In 2007 & 2009, he won Kentucky State Fair awards for his peanut brittle and toffee. Steve had a knack for humor and could make anyone around him laugh. The angels have gained a new comedian.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Joseph Leo Buckler, mother Alice Elizabeth Carver Buckler, brother John Buckler, father-in-law Henry V. Neumayer Sr., and brother and sister-in-law Henry V. Neumayer Jr. and Amy Tatlock Neumayer.
Steve is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary Rita Neumayer Buckler, daughter April Lee Buckler, brother Michael Buckler (Becky), brother James Buckler (Julie), sister Judith Buckler, brother Thomas Buckler (Susan), mother-in-law Gertrude Lee Neumayer, brother-in-law Christopher Neumayer, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, November 14, from 3-7 pm at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 15, (Rattermans) at 1 pm, followed by a burial service at St. Michael´s Cemetery.
