Steven Buell Obituary
Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and built a career he truly loved at Strattec Corporation. Engineering was not just his profession-it was his passion. Over the course of his career, he was awarded nine patents, reflecting his creativity, innovation, and dedication to excellence.
A man of deep faith in Jesus Christ, Steve's beliefs guided his life and values. He was known for his sharp wit, extreme intelligence, and thoughtful insight, often shared with warmth and humor.
Steve was a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions, Michigan Football, and also followed the Detroit Red Wings. He loved music, meaningful conversations, and sharing meals-especially his beloved Puerto Rican cooking, which brought people together.
Above all else, Steve's greatest joy was his children. He is survived by his four children: Mason Caleb Buell, Kendall Peri Buell, Addison Reese Buell, Brynn Elise Buell, and the mother of his children Carol Julien.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Herminia Buell; his brothers Gregg Buell (wife Krista), nephew Bryce, niece Mia, and Aaron Buell. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Buell, in 2021.
Steve will be remembered for his brilliant mind, his humor, his love of football, his faith, and most of all, his deep and abiding love for his children. His legacy lives on through them and through the many lives he touched.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Steve's life with a memorial visitation and service on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road, (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica from 1pm until the time of the memorial service at 4pm with Pastor Justin Krupsky from Trinity Lutheran Church, Utica, officiating.
The family kindly asks that donations be considered in lieu of flowers to assist Steven's children with funeral expenses. Your generosity and support are deeply appreciated during this difficult time.

These are just a few of the many things I'd like to say.
Steve and I worked together at Strattec where he shared his encyclopedic knowledge of manufacturing techniques with me. He was a good coworker and friend. He is missed.
He was proud of his kids and their accomplishments, even though he didn't look forward to moving their stuff in and out of dorms.
We talked about food quite a bit. He raved about his Mom's cooking and spoke highly of his brother's, too.
He gave me sofrito once, before I knew how to use it. It took a little while to try it in a recipe but, wow!
