Joyce Thomison

Joyce Thomison, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1930, and lived a long and meaningful life centered on faith, family, and love. Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Junior Thomison, with whom she shared 62 devoted years of marriage. Together, they built a strong and loving family. She was a cherished mother to her daughter, Kay (Donald) Mullins. Joyce was a proud and loving grandmother to Rusty, Lori (Mike), Kelley (Steven), and Jessica (Tom), and she was also blessed with bonus grandchildren Sherry (Bob), Jeff (Becky), and Theresa. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Cera, Tylur, Tre, and Krew, as well as three bonus great-grandchildren, Sean, Brittany, and Jeff. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart. Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings, Velma Sims and David Keller. A woman of deep faith, Joyce was a devoted member of Harvest Baptist Church, where her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Joyce was also a dedicated fan of the Detroit Tigers and rarely missed a game, enjoying each season with enthusiasm and loyalty. A visitation will take place at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke), Utica, on Monday (March 2nd) from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday (March 3rd) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Joyce's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
