Steven Burch

Steven Burch, 42, of Newton, IA died and at his home of natural causes on Saturday, January 24,2026.

Steven Kyle Burch was born on July 30,1983, in Grinnell, IA to David Allen Burch and Kathleen Joan Burch. He was raised and educated in and around the Grinnell area.

He worked as a welder for HW Brand in Grinnell. He also worked for JeldWen when he was younger. Outside of work, Steven found joy in the simple things - fishing, car races, camping, cars, especially the companionship of his beloved dogs, Bow and Dave, who were a constant source of comfort and happiness.

Family and friends will remember Steven for his quiet strength, his loyalty, and the love he carried for those closest to him. His life was marked by hard work, devotion to family and friends, and the warmth of his presence.

Steven is survived by his son, Trent Burch of Newton; his mother, Kathy Burch of Newton; his sisters, Jessica (Josh) Engelbrecht of Monroe, IA and Julia Riddell of Montezuma, IA; three brothers, David and Tony Riddell of Minnesota, and Jim Riddell of Montezuma; one niece Samantha Anderson; two nephews, Darick and Justin Clark all of Monroe; two great-nieces, Toby Jo and Olivia Anderson of Monroe; several Aunts and Uncles, cousins, many friends; his longtime friend, Beth Bellinger of New Sharon, IA; and his dog Dave.

Steven was preceded in death by his dad, David Burch; both his maternal and paternal grandparents; several uncles and two aunts; and his beloved dog Bow.
