Steven Arthur Cain, 74 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Hospice of the Panhandle.
Steve was born in 1950 in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Delbert and Kathleen Cain. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, and he attended Lord Fairfax Community College and took mechanic classes in TN. Steve retired at 20 plus years working for Rubbermaid in Winchester. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, American Legion and a former VFW member. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to Smith Mountain Lake and Colonial Beach. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh; his goal was to make someone smile every day. Most of all, Steve loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his partner, Lorene Carter, daughter, Sasha Hurst (Jason), son, Sean Cain (Abby); grandchildren, Christian Hurst, Anna Cain and Max Cain; sisters, Mildred "Punky" Homar (Bruce), Nancy Fout (Jerry) and Susan LeMarr (Larry).
Along with his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his brother, Paul "Buddy" Cain.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11am with a service to follow at 12pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Entombment will be Monday, December 2, 2024 at 2pm in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Steve to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV, Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, VA or Margaret's Saving Grace Bully Rescue, 201 E. Main Street, #C1, Front Royal, VA 22630.
