Steven Dandoy Obituary

Steven James Dandoy, a loving husband, father, son, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2023, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born on February 1, 1984, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Steven's contagious smile, laughter, humor and kindness will always be missed by those who knew him.
Steven was the loving husband to his wife, Melissa Dandoy, and beloved father to Emma and Ava Dandoy. He is the cherished son of John J. Dandoy (Nancy Hahn) and Cindy Gorlick (Rob Jester), beloved son-in-law to Brian Erbe (Nikki) and Natalie Erbe, beloved brother of Michael John Dandoy (Jessica Dorow), Christopher Mark Dandoy, step-brother of Andrew Hahn, and brother in-law to Jennifer Konery (Aron). He is further survived by aunt Cheryl Eskridge (Scott), uncle Mark Gorlick, "Auntie" Luci Klebar (Steve), nieces Lucy, Lexy, Vida, and Bella, nephew/Godson, John Michael Dandoy, nephew Max Konery, other relatives and friends. Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claudine Gorlick (Mike), and John A. Dandoy (Catherine O'Connor), uncle Jim Dandoy (Sue), and aunt Julie Harter
A proud veteran who served in the United States Army, Steven was an Artillery Cannon Crewmember (13B). He proudly performed his duties as a Soldier and Non-Commissioned Officer during multiple tours to Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom), where he received a Purple Heart Medal due to the injuries he sustained while serving. His decorations also include an Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Army Commendation Medal (4th award), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2nd award), Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge (Airborne), and many more.
Steven had an adventurous soul. His interests varied, but he was very passionate about them all. Whatever he did, he put all of his effort into. He loved being outdoors with his family, whether it was to participate in watersports, snowsports, hike, bike, camp, skateboard, playing at the park with his girls, barbequing or just working on his motorcycle and truck, you could always find him outside. He was also a bourbon enthusiast and a cigar lover, a connoisseur who had considerable knowledge and discriminating tastes, and loved to share his product reviews and facts with those around him. His presence will forever be missed and the memories he created will never be forgotten.
As a proud Wisconsinite, he was a loyal sports fan to the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, and the University of Wisconsin. He enjoyed listening to the games on the radio or watching the teams play on the television, wearing his team gear, and coaching them from the comfort of his home and patio. The memories of his enthusiastic chants, cheers, and laughter will always be remembered.
Steven was a Christian who received the gift of salvation from God, by grace, through his faith. He loved to attend church with his family and discuss theology, as his relationship with God recently grew closer. His presence in the pews with his family will be missed and his perseverance of faith will always be remembered.
Steven was a loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His legacy will live on through his family, and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind.
Visitation will be held at Max Sass Mission Hills Chapel (8910 W. Drexel Avenue, Franklin, WI) on Friday, July 14th, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Military Funeral Honors and Burial will be held at 1:15 PM, at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 614 E Howard Ave, Milwaukee, WI.
