Steven Edward Dove, affectionately known as Steve, was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. Born on September 15, 1946, in the humble town of Horton, Kansas, Steve's journey through life was one defined by dedication, compassion, and cherished relationships.
For many years, he thrived as a computer programmer, a profession that mirrored his analytical mind and unwavering commitment to excellence. Steve's talents and expertise were complemented by the warmth of his personality; he was not only a diligent worker but a loving and caring individual who always took the time to lend a helping hand to others.
Proudly serving in the army, Steve exemplified strength and resilience throughout his life. His military service instilled a sense of discipline and purpose, shaping him into the devoted family man he became. At the heart of his proudest accomplishments was his family—a testament to the deep love and unwavering support he provided to his wife, children, and grandchildren, who were the pillars of his world.
Steve had a zest for life, reveling in simple joys such as woodworking and fishing. The serenity of nature found him at the water’s edge, rod in hand, soaking up the beauty that surrounded him. He also possessed a gentle heart for cats, often sharing his home with furry companions that reflected his nurturing spirit.
On March 19, 2025, Steve departed this world, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those he cherished. He is dearly missed by his wife, Evelyn "Marie" Dove; children, Christopher Dove, Catherine Bauman, Stephanie Mullen; 7 grandchildren, and siblings, Dr. Joanna Dove, Robert Dove, Jerry Shannon; whose lives were forever enriched by his presence and character.
