Steven Figliola Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Corleto-Latina Funeral Home and Crematory from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3, 2026.
Steven P. Figliola passed away on January 28, 2026, leaving behind a large, loving, and devoted extended family. Steve was born on August 23,1955 the third of eight children, all deeply loved and cared for by their parents, Ann (Cardile) and Mike Figliola, Sr.

Steve graduated from DelCastle High School, class of 1974. He trained as an electrician, following in the footsteps of his father. He worked in the field for over 50 years, acquiring knowledge and skills by becoming a diagnostic specialist.

Steve managed the Greenhill Car Wash over the course of several years. He understood and managed all the complex machinery along with maintaining the property, which served the local community.

However, Steve's greatest passion and joy was working for the Italian Festival as the contracted electrician in charge. He and his crew spent an entire week planning, installing, and testing the wiring and electrical fixtures while collaborating with the vendors. He remained onsite throughout the festival, offering his time and expertise to immediately address any problems. Steve especially loved hanging out with his family and encouraging the out-of-town folks to schedule their trips to Wilmington during the week of the festival. Our family shares fond memories of celebrating our heritage together.

Steve was predeceased by his parents, and leaves behind seven siblings. Michael Jr, Louise, Dan (Kitty), Michele (Jim), Joe (Maureen), Jim (Vicki), and his "baby sister" Joanne. Steve was the proud uncle to twelve nieces and nephews and sixteen great nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him. He attended many of their sporting events and other activities.

Steve loved to talk about sports, especially football and baseball, and would share his years of knowledge with anyone who would listen.

Steve's funeral will be private, but we encourage all who knew him to share your memories.

We would like to thank Delaware Hospice for their compassion, care, and support.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Steve's cousins Sandi and Martin Duszak for their unwavering love and support.

In lieu of flowers, Steve requested that donations be made to

St. Anthony Church, 901 N Dupont Street, Wilmington DE 19805.

Please accept our condolences on the passing of Steve. He always made himself available to assist us with handyman needs for our homes. Whenever he came around he always shared memories of my father. Steve used to frequent my father's Barber Shop Larry's. Steve was a great help in providing uncle and Aunt with there handyman needs. My aunt Connie was a pistol and could be difficult to work with especially since she was hearing impaired. Steve was always patient with her and my aunt was always happy to see him which cannot be said for most people. Steve and I would reminisce about Little League Mack Park. He would always like to share the story of his brother Dan always showing off to the other kids how he could stuff a half a dozen donuts in his mouth at one time. Steve really loved his brothers and sisters and was always singing their praises always reminding me that if he couldn't get it done one of his brothers could get it done for me. May God have mercy my soul and may he enjoy internal rest with our Lord Jesus Christ. And Steve since you're up there keep the lights on down for all of us down here.
