Throughout his life, he held a special affection for animals, which enriched his experiences and brought warmth to his days.
Steve's greatest pride was his family, particularly his immense love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dottie Freels; his daughters, Jinny Blakley, Joni Freels, and Janis Davids; his brother, Dennis Murphy; along with 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
