Steven Eugene Gregory, 61, of Fort Walton Beach Florida, passed away peacefully with family at his bedside on October 12, 2025, following a year-long battle with liver failure.
Steven was born June 24, 1964, in Washington D.C. Growing up in a military family, Steven lived in Maryland, Nebraska and South Carolina, before moving to Florida in 1975. He considered Fort Walton beach, Florida his home. Steven attended Edwins Elementary, Bruner Middle and Fort Walton Beach High school, graduating in 1982.
Steven worked many jobs in his younger years, including heavy machinery operator before becoming a long-distance truck driver. He enjoyed being on the open road and exploring new places. Over the last few years, he worked closer to home doing local deliveries.
Steven had a huge heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He enjoyed working with hands and seeing how things worked. In his spare time, Steven enjoyed NASCAR racing, cooking on his smoker, watching football, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends.
Steven is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Heather Graham (David) and their son, Kris; brother, Kenneth Gregory (Beth); sister, Lori Spicknall (Kenneth); nieces and nephews, Ashley Downey, Ryan Gregory, Shannon Spicknall, Andrew Spicknall, Tabitha Martinez, and Kathleen Jamieson; and many great nieces and nephews. He brought much happiness and joy into the lives of his family. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Murlene Gregory.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Davis-Watkins Funeral home at 113 Racetrack Road Northeast in Fort Walton Beach, FL.
