Steven A. Guider, born in Hackensack New Jersey, on July 5, 1964 passed away on June 12, 2024 after a hard fought battle with leukemia. He moved to San Diego in 1980. He worked as a flooring contractor, and later as a car mechanic, and car salesman. Steven moved from San Diego to Hemet, CA in 2016, and remained there until his passing. He had many friends and was loved for his kindness and his desire to help others less fortunate than himself. He was an animal lover and rescued many dogs: Rocky, Munchie, Stubby and Tank. Stevens son, Devon Guider, age 30, preceded him in death in January, 2023. Devon was a victim of the fentanyl scourge affecting so many young people today. Steve was actively involved in several organizations honoring the many victims of the fentanyl epidemic in the San Diego area. Steven was a good man who left too soon. He is survived by his mother, Margaret "Peg" Guider; his aunt Emily Rue Coyle; his cousins Brittany Rue, Michael Rue, and Jennifer Spears Valance; and his Uncle Pete Goeckler, who will all miss him dearly. He is also survived by the entire Lax family including many cousins. MOST importantly, Steve is survived by his beloved best friends: Mark Jones, Michelle Peppler, and his dog Tank, who were all by his side when he passed. Rest in peace my beloved Steven. We will all be together again. Love Mom To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Steven, please visit our Tree Store.
