Earlier today

Steve was a true visionary. He was inspiring, supportive, generous, and kind. He believed in people, always seeing the best in everyone around him. He lived his life with intention and purpose, and always with curiosity and with an adventurous spirit. His legacy will live on in all the lives he touched, and he will never be forgotten.

I worked with Steve many years through the MEP program as a sister state MEP in Washington and a contractor to TechHelp. I´m saddened by his passing & send my condolences to his family and MEP colleagues.

My last memory of Steve was a long visit at Ruth's house. I taught his sister Laurie. I remember her beautiful smile. Based on the comments from family and friends he left lasting memories in many ways. My Memory of Steve and the life he led: Steve was a success in life. He lived well; laughed often and loved much. He gained the respect of integrity with so many people on all levels. He leaves the world better than he found it. He looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. He leaves the world at peace with God, family and friends. For all of us it is still a beautiful world. Strive to be happy!
HAPPY TRAILS Mike

Steve was one of those rare people who made you smile just because he was with you. Intelligent, thoughtful, hard working, kind, and always calm and patient, he had a presence that made you feel better anytime you were with him. Never a bad word about anybody, always looking to the future. We need many more peoople like Steve and he will be missed.

Steve was one of the first people I met in Boise and I deeply enjoyed working on numerous international manufacturing projects with him and his great wit, kindness, and insight. I also very much enjoyed skiing with (or usually behind!) him at Bogus Basin from time to time. Our deep condolences to the Hatten family.

Twenty-five years ago, I led the search team at TechHelp that made Steve a job offer that we thought was pretty respectable. To our surprise, he turned the search around and started interviewing us and everyone else associated with our program, to make sure it was a place HE wanted to be! Little did we know that this was true Steve Hatten - checking everything out before he made a commitment! He was the most interesting and the most successful hire that I ever experienced. He was a great team member and as the organization evolved and a number of us moved on, he was the right choice for leadership. I always loved his gentle humor, his dedication to 'doing it right' and his drive to not only explore details, but also, strategic possibilities. He had a great mind and a kind heart. He has been taken from us far too young. Steve - thank you for inspiring me to live and work with integrity. I thank you.

I was lucky enough to work for a year in the TechHelp office suite and always looked forward to chatting with Steve over the watercooler. He genuinely loved his family, his work, and his team. The culture in TechHelp was lively and supportive - yielding impactful work for our community. He was an amazing leader. Rest easy Steve.

I had the privilege of working side by side with him for 15 years as his financial director. We spoke in length almost every day about work and family as our kids were in Soccer together and we shared many interests. He may have been my boss, but he more importantly was a very close friend. He will be missed.

I had the honor of working with Steve during my time as professor and Dean of the College of Business and Economics. Steve was a wonderful person and a great leader for TechHelp. He made a huge positive impact on TechHelp and on the manufacturing community throughout Idaho. Steve has been a good friend for many years and I will miss him. Rest in peace my friend.

Steve was a great colleague and friend. I recall being on the search team that hired him for TechHelp a couple decades ago. He stood out as very qualified and approachable. It has been great working with him all of these years. I wish he had not gone so soon from this earth.
