Steven Herrera lost his four year battle with cancer on September 25, 2025. He died peacefully at home with his loving partner of twelve years, Carole Finn, and his children at his side. Steven was born in California, and had never left the state before moving to Ohio with Carole. He is also survived by his children Mary of San Diego, California, and his son Steve of Vail, Colorado.

Steven was very proud of his service in the US Army in Germany as a weapons specialist. After his return to California, Steven owned and operated two dry-cleaning establishments in the San Diego area. After moving to Ohio and wanting to spend his last few working years doing something with his hands, Steven worked at Home Depot in Macedonia and Terry Lumber in Peninsula, OH. There was nothing that Steven couldn't x, from hair dryers to automobile engines. He was a passionate fan of football and John Wayne. Steven will always be remembered for his quick wit and ready laugh, and for the boundless energy that he put into helping others. Steven and Carole loved cross-country road trips and sitting outside on their front porch in Brecksville. He will be forever missed.

A Celebration of Life will take place in the future in California.
