Steven Hinderland Obituary

On August 8, 2022, Steven John Hinderland, age 67, of Glendale, passed away at home
of natural causes. Steve was born to Edward and Helen "Bobbie" Hinderland on December 25,
1954, in Lincoln, Illinois. In 1959, he and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Steve
graduated from Washington High School in 1972. He attended Arizona State University where
he was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. On January 3, 1981, Steve married Barbara
Wenger at Camelback Bible Church. Throughout his career, Steve worked in several different
fields, but mostly in the construction and steel industries. He was a life-long learner with an
interest in a wide variety of subjects, including history, aviation, music, engineering, and
mechanics. Steve is survived by his son Matt (Heather) of Colorado, daughter Heather (Todd) of
Gilbert, brother Dave (Kendra) of Texas, as well as seven grandchildren, two nephews, and one
niece. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ed Hinderland, his mother, Helen "Bobbie"
Hinderland, his sister, Sally (Hinderland) Ordini, and his brother-in-law, John Ordini. A private
service was held at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery on August 13, 2022. In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations made be made to Compassion International at www.compassion.com.
