Steven Ray Justice, 64, of Smithville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.

Steve was born on Sept. 8, 1960, in Orrville and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1977 – 1979. He married Esther Mae Williams on April 11, 1986, and together they worked hard over the years to build a wonderful life. Steve had worked in the oilfields from 1979 – 1985 and from 1986 - 2015 had owned and operated The Barn Farm. From 2015 – 2019 he worked at Halliburton followed by BJ Services and Schlumberger. Steve enjoyed woodworking and he loved to collect Zippo lighters, PEZ Dispensers and Henry Antique guns.

Surviving is his wife, Esther; son and daughter-in-law, Danny A. and Nina of Smithville; daughter, Jessica L. of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Madisyn, Brandt, Alexia and Trentton; great-grandchildren, Rylann and Kelsie; a brother, Pete (Beth) Justice and a sister, Darline Hettes. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Juanita (Watts) and Clyde Dayton; his father, Slim Justice; a brother, Rodney and a sister, Judy Nerhrenz.

At Steve's request, cremation will take place and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
