Steven Wayne Kapral passed away on December 31, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with chronic respiratory disease. Steve was born on February 16, 1954, to George and Donna Kapral in the idyllic small town of Peshastin. He was the baby brother to his 3 siblings. He was always full of energy and at times found himself in trouble. He had a dry sense of humor, an easy laugh, and a twinkle in his eyes.
Steve graduated from Peshastin-Dryden High School where he played football and basketball. After graduation, he attended Central WA University for a short time and then returned to Peshastin to run the family pear orchard. Steve took great pride when he received a top-quality award for his Bartlett pears from his warehouse. He enjoyed being his own boss and loved to be on his tractor. His favorite job was stacking bins during harvest. His stacked load was perfect!
Cross-country skiing, sailing his boat on Lake Chelan, and driving his Mustang cars and motorcycles at top speeds were his passions. His friends nicknamed him Captain Blewett. For many years his house was the place of snooker tournaments that went late into the night. Many great memories were made during those times. He had many lifelong friends whom he valued greatly.
Perfection was top on his list and he controlled every aspect of his life. He was a happy bachelor. His life revolved around the orchard and his love of animals, especially dogs and cats. He had many special German Shepard dogs and his love of them was well known.
His family and friends feel a deep sense of respect and love for his courage and bravery throughout his illness.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rand. He is survived by his sisters; Kristie Willsey (Sam), Kelly Adam (Michael); nephews Jay Kapral (Amber), Joshua Adam, Mark Kapral (Rachel) and nieces; Stephani Simpson (Tom), and Micah Reister.
Kristie and Kelly would like to extend a special thanks to all of Steve's friends who looked out for him until the end. At Steve's request, there will be no service. His special friends plan to get together, as they always did, on Steve's birthday.
