Steven G. Kennedy

Steven G. Kennedy, of Rockford, departed this earthly life November 17, 2025. He was born December 11, 1951 in Rockford the son of Norman and Dorothy Kennedy. Steven married the former Mickie Jean Jowers, March 15, 1975, she preceded him in death. Steven was employed as a Diesel Mechanic by Precision Automotive and Diesel and Rockford Truck Sales, later to retire from SPX Industries. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Steven graduated from West High School class of 1969. He was also a member Purple Knights a subgroup of the Phantom Regiment.

Steven leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Tonia Kennedy and Tracey (Tim) Dawson; son, Michael Austin; four grandchildren, Timmy, Olivia, Scarlet and Jonathan; two great grandchildren; sister, Lavonne "Bonnie" McClure; a host of other relatives and friends including two nephews Scott and Brian. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter Tina Kennedy; and his in laws, Clayton and Mickie Carter; sister in law JoAnn Vaccaro. and brother in law Tim McClure.

Memorial Services will be held 11:30 a.m. December 6, 2025 at Beth Eden United Methodist Church 3201 Huffman Blvd. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
