Steven Kless (May 28, 1962 - Dec. 2nd, 2025 )
Steven Kless, age 63, was born May 28, 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Stephanie; his devoted children, Becca and Will; his loving parents, Cookie and Denny; and his siblings Larry (m. Elaine, children Sam, Mitch, and Marley) and David (m. Jenn, children Devin and Makenzie). He is also mourned by scores of adoring friends.
Steven graduated with a degree in Peace Studies from Kent State University and went on to earn an M.A. in Sociology from CU Boulder and a degree in Library Science. He devoted 32 years of his life to serving children and families as Teacher Librarian at University Hill Elementary, a dual-language immersion school, where he was the heartbeat of the community. In that role, he instilled a love of literature in generations of students, opening worlds of imagination and possibility to English and Spanish speaking students alike.
Outside of his vocation, Steven was a seeker. He charged the mountains on foot, skis, and bicycle wheels. He was a voracious reader, a walking library of knowledge, and he danced with abandon, elevating the spirit of everyone around him.
Steven was an enlightened soul and lived by shining example. He fought for a just society with peaceful action at every opportunity. He lived every day with profound love and intention. That love was evident in everything - the attention he gave his family, his wife and children, and the countless ways he showed up for his friends.
You will be deeply missed, Klessy. Your gentle kindness, neverending generosity and shining spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved you and in the incalculable lives you touched.
