Steven James Kluver, 56, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 11, 2025.
Steven was born on May 2, 1969, in Fairmont, Minnesota, to James and Carolyn (Byers) Kluver. He graduated from Welcome High School in 1987 and went on to attend Riverland Community College, where he graduated in auto mechanics. From an early age, he showed a natural talent for working with his hands and a deep curiosity for how things worked.
Steven was an auto mechanic by trade and by passion. He began his career working at Blachowske Truckline in Fairmont, Firestone and Sanderson's Auto in Albert Lea, Minnesota, before going on to own and operate his own business's, Nasby's Radiator Service for 34 years, Albert Lea Taxi for 16 years and his most recent accomplishment in making Lisa's dream of opening Pawsitively Family Kennel happen. In doing so, he built not only a successful livelihood but lasting relationships with countless friends and customers. Known for his ability to fix just about anything, Steven took pride in his work and was always willing to lend his skills to anyone in need.
Steven was proudly ordained and found great joy in performing weddings. He considered it an honor to be part of such meaningful moments and truly enjoyed celebrating love with the couples he married.
Above all else, Steven was a people person. He would do anything for anyone and treated everyone he met with respect. He was truly friends with everyone, loved to tell jokes and play pranks just for fun. His one-of-a-kind laugh was unforgettable to those who knew him.
Steven cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved teaching them everything he knew and sharing his passions with them. He also enjoyed antiquing with his wife, Lisa, always on the hunt for unique and interesting finds. Steven loved to travel, exploring the country and Mexico, crossing items off his bucket list, and trying new foods and drinks along the way. In his free time, he could often be found building demolition derby cars-combining his mechanical skill with friendship and fun playing sand volleyball and bowling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Willert) Kluver; his children, Bobbie (Josh) Larson and Jon (Brooke) Kluver; his grandchildren, Bria, Bentley, Brentley, Raelyn, and Ryan; his parents, James and Carolyn (Byers) Kluver; his brother, Jeremy Kluver; his mother-in-law, Diane (late Dale) Willert; his sister-in-law, Laura (Shane) Zvorak, several nieces and nephews along with many friends who were like family.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and his father-in-law. Steven will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his generosity, his laughter, his unmatched mechanical talent, and the way he made everyone feel valued.
In honor of Steven, family invites those attending the visitation or service to wear a vacation or tropical-style shirt, a reflection of his love for fun, travel, and the bright shirts he was rarely seen without.
