Obituary of Steven G. Latham
Steven G. Latham, the son of Jesse Latham and Phyllis (Wheatley) Latham, was born August 10, 1956 in Albuquerque, NM and passed away on February 8, 2025 at his home in Belleville, Kansas at the age of 68.
Steven grew up in Albuquerque and California in his early years. He worked with his parents in the family trucking company for about 10 years. Steven served with the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1975. Steven later was in charge of maintenance at MC's in Belleville, KS for 13 years, and later for 20 years, he was the maintenance manager at Reinke's MFG in Deshler, NE, recently retiring.
Steven through the years was a jack of all trades: plumbing, building swimming pools, and large production machines for various companies, as he loved to build. Steven also liked camping, family trips, fishing and boating.
On September 24, 1976, he was united in marriage to Harlya Turner and to this union was born: Elissa, Steven, and William.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis & Jesse Latham, and brother, Richard Latham.
He is survived by his spouse, Harlya Latham of Belleville, KS; 2 sons, Steven (Carla) Latham of Hays, KS and William (Ashley) Latham of Wamego, KS; one daughter, Elissa (Earl) Bernie of Ellsworth, KS; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Donald Latham, Jesse Latham, and Darrell Latham; one sister, Jeanne Latham; Other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.
Interment will follow at the Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, KS
Visitation and viewing will be held from 1PM until 7PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the family with a memorial to be decided at a later date.
