He was born in Springville, Massachusetts on April 9, 1957, the son of Charles and Helen (Pausley) Laurin.
Steve worked in maintenance at Ball Memorial Hospital for several years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Boles) Laurin; two daughters, Sue Barttrum and Teresa Barttrum-Patterson; three grandchildren, Taryn, Mason and Trey; sisters, Ruth Shifflet of Portland, Tennessee, Tricia Frazier of Wayneboro, Virginia, Sharon Muller of Zion Crossroads, Virginia and Cathy Scott (Buddy) of Afton, Virginia; brothers, Charles (Jamie) of Punta Gorda, Florida, Skip of North Carolina, Tommy of Wayesboro and Michael (Cindy) of Winterville, North Carolina; two step-brothers, Eric Tucker and David Rybolt of Charlottsville, Virginia; three special friends, Mike Howlett, Steve Foster and Chad Plank.
Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Barttrum; his ma, Jenny Tucker; along with his parents.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the mortuary.
