Steven C. "Steve" Lorenz, age 70 passed away on Thursday morning, February 8, 2024 at IU Health in Bedford. He was a resident of Springville and a former resident of Nineveh.
Steve was born December 23, 1953 in Kokomo, to his parents, the late Henry Eugene "Gene" and Jean Ann (Roberts) Lorenz. He was a 1971 graduate of Northwestern High School and went on to serve as a Specialist 5 with the Headquarters Battalion Artillery of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1974, Steve continued to serve with the Army Reserves until 1987. He received an Associate's Degree in Business from St. Peter's College in Clearwater, FL after returning from the War. Steve retired in 2023 from Old Dominion Freight Lines, where he worked as a Truck Driver for over 17 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dennise C. (Francoeur) Lorenz, whom he married on August 24, 1990 at Eagle Creek Park in Speedway.
Steve was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed boating, fishing and tinkering in his garage. Steve loved spending time with his wife, Dennise and caring for his fur babies, Teddy, Sugar and Winter.
Entombment will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26th at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery: 1415 North Gate Road, Madison, Indiana. Military honors will be presented by the United States Army and the American Legion Post 9 Honor Guard. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
