Steven Maurice Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woyasz & Son Funeral Service - Norwich on Jun. 28, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven P. Maurice, who departed from this world on May 27, 2024, in Dallas, TX. Steven was born on October 17, 1967, in Norwich, CT, to his loving parents, Philip H. Maurice and Beverly (Bujnowski).
Steven, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, is survived by his beloved wife Tina O. Maurice, children Joshua A. Murphy (Mellani), Rebecca Walls (Jeffrey Jr.), Jacob Maurice, and Victoria Robinson. His grandchildren, Joshua Murphy-Schmitz, Boston Murphy-Schmitz, Brinley Walls, Kinsley Walls, Bradlie Robinson, and Chandler Robinson, brought immense joy to his life. He was a pillar of strength and support to his family, always putting their needs above his own.
During his life, Steven served the United States Air Force, both in a remarkable 22 years of active duty and 14 years as a civilian. His dedication and commitment earned him several accolades, including the AF Comm Med with 1 OLC, Joint Svs Medal, Air Force Achievement with 3 OLC, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Award, and AF Outstanding with 2 OLC.
Aside from his military service, Steven had a deep passion for fishing, coin collecting, playing cards, bowling, and enjoying a cold beer while cheering on his favorite teams, the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. His interests were as diverse as his character - a man who embodied loyalty, kindness, and a strong work ethic.
Steven's marriage to Tina on July 6, 1993, in Rapid City, SD, marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together that spanned three decades. They faced life's challenges hand in hand, growing stronger with each passing year. Steven's sister, Jennifer Morgis (Scott), brother Paul Maurice, and his mother, Beverly Maurice, will always cherish the memories they shared with him.
His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Steven P. Maurice touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. May his legacy live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
The inurnment took place 1:30pm Friday, June 14, 2024, at Mills Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, KY.
A memorial mass will take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph church, 120 Cliff Street, Norwich, CT.
