Steven Montgomery Obituary

Steven John Montgomery (Steve), 69, of Urbanna, passed away on July 3, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 14, 1955, in Richmond, Steve was the beloved son of the late Lillian and John Montgomery. Throughout his life, Steve was a man of remarkable talents, excelling in everything from construction work to intricate gun repair. He discovered a true passion for gunsmithing while living in Middlesex, where he could often be found in his shed, diligently working on his latest repair or project. When he wasn’t in his workshop, he was often found in the house with his beloved cat, Tippy. Beyond his skilled craftsmanship, many in the community also knew Steve from his participation in fishing tournaments, turkey shoots, and adult softball. Here he made countless memories with his friends and family that will truly last a lifetime.

Steve is survived by his wife, Amy Wyatt; his loving children, Stephanie Luckett (James) and Elizabeth Jessie (Nate); and his cherished grandchildren, Carly Jessie, Courtney Jessie, Justin Jessie, Madison Luckett, and Owen Luckett. He also leaves behind his siblings, Dorothy Hedges and Danny Montgomery (Wendy), along with many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.
