My first memory of Smurf was when my family Mike, Raz and (Tina, Mom)and I moved next door to him, at first he thought we broke in to the house but Mom informed him that we were his new Nabors, I loved his cookouts, and hanging with him.

Our condolences to the Murphy Family. We all went to school together way back when, where Steve began his joke collecting, I believe inheriting this talent from his Dad. I am thankful that the last time I ran into Steve during Trivia Night we had a good laugh and a hug. I'm going to take a liberty here and modify the Old Irish prayer that begins with "May the road rise up to greet you, may the wind always be at your back, not quite sure of all the verses but I'm changing the end to: may the devil give you THREE STEPS and an half hour...I hope that brings a smile to you, I debated it a long time. Smurf, may you rest in peace with Mom, Dad and your brothers. May the Murphy family also find comfort and peace from happy memories. Karen & Rick Dumler

I have so many memories of Murph cheering me up when I was down. The greatest memory is the one that I can still hear his laughter so clearly in my mind, the time we rode the tilt-a-whirl together at the fair several years back. I know his presence will be deeply missed. My heart is with all his friends and family.

I remember when we first moved into the trailer next to his. He was always welcoming, and invited us to do a boat race in the spring when the snow was melting with little pieces of wood. That memory will forever be with me. He was truly an awesome neighbor.
